The city of Eger is about an hour and a half from Budapest up in the mountains. The city played an important role in Hungary’s history mainly during the 150 years when a part of Hungary was ruled by Turkey. The city has lots of historic sites from this era, like the minaret, turkish bath and the mosque for example. The historic down town is always busy with lots of restaurants and caffees to relax and spend free time.
The 50m pool (above) was built in 2001 and from the summer of 2004 a wonderful 50m outdoor pool is available too for training camps. A wonderful new building planned by Hungary’s most famous architect. The facility is located in the hart of the city, so both the hotel and the down town is in walking distance from it.
